Blackburn Radio United Way Auction - December 8, 2009

The Retro Suites Hotel would like to congratulate Blackburn Radio on its success with the recent radio auction. Together, 94.3 CKSY, Country 92.9 and their listeners were able to raise nearly $14,000 for the United Way of Chatham-Kent. The Retro Suites was pleased to play host once again and we look forward to raising even more money next year.

Savoury Apps in Downtown Chatham - July 10 & 11, 2009

Downtown Chatham played host to a great event earlier this month, TasteFest. The Downtown Chatham BIA organized a two-day food festival, where area restaurants offered bite-sized offerings, shops had sidewalk sales and farmers brought down fruits and veggies fresh from nearby fields. The Retro Suites Hotel and the Chilled Cork participated with great foods for the passersby. We were also fortunate to have some very talented musicians to entertain the hungry crowd. The Southwest Blues Review, the Traces Steel Band and the Shake had the folks grooving to the music.

Fergie Jenkins - May 22, 2009

Fergie Jenkins, Chatham's hometown hero and Canada's only baseball Hall of Famer, signed copies of his latest book in the lobby of the Retro Suites Hotel. Fergie: My Life from the Cubs to Cooperstown takes a look back at his impressive career.

Massimo Capra Book Signing at the Chilled Cork - April 02, 2009

The Retro Suites Hotel and the Chilled Cork recently had the distinct pleasure of having Massimo Capra and his wife, Rosa, be our guests. The Executive Chef, who makes regular appearances on CityLine and Restaurant Makeover, also signed copies of his cookbook, Massimo's Italian Kitchen.

A Night with Oscar - February 22nd, 2009

The glitz and glamour were evident as the Retro Suites Hotel and the Chilled Cork hosted A Night with Oscar. We cheered on our favourite nominees, and we were able to raise some money for the Chatham-Kent United Way. A special thanks to Phil Beard for the wonderful photography, Eve Chocolatier for the chocolate statuettes and Enchanted Affairs for the old Hollywood decor.

CKSY FM Radio Auction - December 15, 2008

On December 15th, Greg Hetherington and Katy Uher broadcasted the entire day from the hotel lobby during their annual radio auction. Thanks to the community's generosity, they were able to collect $13,000 for the Chatham-Kent United Way and its member agencies. United Way representative Deryl Hall-Giera also stopped by to discuss the role of the organization.
